What is Stewardship?

Christian Stewardship is about how we, the church members, provide the resources of time, money and skills to ensure that we continure to be a growing and flourishing church.

The reason that we run a Stewardship Campaign is that we need to review how much and how we all give to the Church.

Did you know that current regular and dependable giving sustains such things as?

How much should I give?

There is no easy formula and the amount given has to be according to each individual’s ability.

General Synod asks us to adopt 5% of our take home pay as a starting point. Many Christians follow the biblical example of tithing 10%.

Bible references to giving:

o2 Corinthinans Chapter 8, Verse 7

o2 Corinthinans Chapter 9, Verse 7

It is important to think carefully about all we receive from God and consider our priorities.

Any decision should be made in a generous and positive spirit based on prayer and thanksgiving to a generous God.

Perhaps we should ask ourselves, “How can my giving reflect something of God’s love for me?”

Our Challengs is to continue to meet our expenditure

How do I start?

Once you have decided what you want to give and how much, please complete the "Gift Aid declaration form" and/or the "Offer of Time and Skills form" and give them to Derek Baulch. If you have completed the Gift Aid declaration form, Derek can supply you with either a yearly book of envelopes or a form to instruct your bank to set up a standing order.

Gift Aid

Signing a Gift Aid declaration, if you are a UK taxpayer will allow any charity and the Church to clain Income Tax from Revenue and Customs. For example, every £10 donated to the Church can claim an additional £2.80 through Gift Aid, so it is well worth doing.
